Do you often find yourself stuck because you are afraid of making a mistake? It could be regarding a career change, ending a relationship, embracing a new relationship, or taking charge of your health. The list can go on and on.
The man who does things makes many mistakes, but he never makes the biggest mistake of all – doing nothing …… Benjamin Franklin.
When it comes to losing weight, you have probably tried many different diets with promises of finding freedom from your struggles, but each time you never really get ahead or end up where you want to be. Although this is frustrating at least you took action. You see, for the most part, we don’t know of any other way to lose weight and trim down other than to go on a diet or start an exercise routine.
When it comes to losing weight, why is it that we are so wired to go on a diet or join a gym?
If the way we eat and exercise isn’t something that is a lifestyle, then it is something that we inevitably won’t maintain. It has to be fun and enjoyable …. right?
I was on the yo-yo diet roller coaster for many years in the past and if this is you today, I know your pain and frustration, but I can assure you that you can put an end to it. I have and it is wonderful!
Learning to listen to your own body and making necessary upgrades is a great place to start
For example, if you suffer with heartburn or any type of digestive discomfort including constipation, your body is communicating with you that it is not happy about what you are doing to it. Taking a pill will only mask the problem and it will keep on persisting even though you may not feel the effects of the damage. This can prevent you from removing the food that is the culprit and introducing healthier options.
One person’s food can be another person’s poison so it is important that we determine what is best for us as individuals. When we eat real food and our body feels satisfied we automatically maintain a healthy weight. Exercise is excellent for keeping various functions of our body healthy, but it doesn’t have to be embraced for the purpose of losing weight.
I don’t live my life in a straightjacket but I do choose organic for just about everything that I purchase and when I eat out, I choose the best option available that I believe best serves my body. It takes time to learn this and feel committed but I can assure you that the benefits are so worth it. It doesn’t matter if you make healthy choices one day and not the next just as long as you are aware of your choices and what they are doing to you. We often think that if we aren’t doing something “perfectly” then we shouldn’t do it at all.
Progress in the direction of healthier choices is far better now and then than not at all. However, if you embrace healthier options for even just a week you will definitely see a difference in how you feel in terms of your energy levels, your sleep, your mood, and even your skin. This type of experience is what will take you to the next level of progression. My progression has led me to taking food with me when I am travelling so that I can continue with embracing my health.
